The
Objective of the course is to enlighten participants on the procedures set forth in
contract documents for handling of claims and disputes. At the end of the
course, participants will be able to prepare, evaluate and manage claims
arising from building and civil engineering contracts and thereby ensure
efficiency in administration of claims and mitigate their adverse effects,
which sometimes lead to disputes.

Risks and
their administration; General Introduction to Claims; Legal Aspects of
Claims; Common Claim Situations; Preparation and Defence of Claims;
Settlement of Disputable claims and Case Studies.
Participation
is open to
all actors in the construction industry who in one way or the other are
involved in contract administration. They include: Architects, Engineers,
Quantity Surveyors, Estate Managers, District Engineers, Contractors and
Clients. Participants from both the Government and the private sector are
invited.
Course fee is Tshs. 400,000 per participant. The fee includes expenses for lunch,
mid-break refreshments and course notes.
